Summary and Conclusion A note to our readers: this work, originally published in German in 1952, is a polemic written for the people, not a scholarly study for research purposes; in the interests of readability the author attempted quite deliberately to keep footnoting and other scholarly conventions to a minimum. As a result, however, there are a good number of quotations whose source is not clearly stated. From the perspective of documentation this is unfortunate. We shall attempt to fill in some of the gaps in the documentation; in the meantime, Lenz's arguments stand quite well on their own merits.
